Once I decided to jump onboard with this little project of mine, I figured I better start out "cleaning house." With so many pins to choose from I had no idea where to begin. So, instead of just jumping in I spent the evening last night cleaning out and arranging all of my folders. This helped me for a variety of reasons.
First, I was able to eliminate duplicate pins from most folders. To be honest there were a couple folders where I didn't even try. There were just so many pins it would have been nearly impossible to go through and remember what was a duplicate and what wasn't.
Second, I was given a reminder as to what types of things I had pinned. There were some super fun summer projects I had pinned back in winter that I had completely forgotten about. This also put things fresh in my mind, so that when I'm out and about I can remember to pick up things here and there to help me accomplish some of these things.
One of the more fun things that happened is that I realized I had completed projects/recipes that I hadn't moved into their appropriate folders. When I finished organizing everything I realized I had actually completed 37 things, not 34. Okay, okay, I know that's only 3 additional items, but it's still more than I thought!
And one of the downers of the cleaning project was that I had to eliminate pins that are not possible to complete now. For instance, since we are not planning to have any more children and my youngest is approaching 11 months there was no longer a need for those super cute newborn photo ideas...that never happened :(
When all was said and done I had new folders that categorized things better, deleted folders that weren't really used, and wrapped up the night with 3,070 pins. What? You didn't think I was going to stop without adding new fun things did ya ;)

The Awkward Intro Post
Let's just get the awkward first post introduction out of the way, shall we?
Shannon, early 30's, married for 6 years, 2 kiddos (one boy - 3.5, one girl - 10 months), (newly) promoted to stay-at-home-momma, loves - cooking, photography, traveling, reading; dislikes - dishes, editing pictures, early morning flights, audio books.
Phew, now that we've got that out of the way, let's get down to the real nitty gritty. What exactly is this blog and why should you stick around to read it?
Well, last night I was lounging around with the Hubs after the kiddos went to bed. He decided to catch up on True Blood (not a fan, sorry!), so I pulled open my laptop and after checking emails surfed the web for a while until I landed on 'ol faithful - Pinterest. Ah, the time suck of the century, ha! I love me some Pinterest. The glorious pictures, the happy people, the fun activities, the delicious food...love it all...3,051 pins worth of love if we're getting technical. Then it dawned on me, how much have I actually done with all that time I've spent pinning things. Well, I have a folder for that, a few actually (based on category, of course), so let's have a looksy...oh, there it is, I have completed a whopping 34 pins, whomp whomp. And right in that moment I decided I was going to change it. If I'm gonna spend time finding all these great ideas then I need to attempt to execute them. Problem? I am horrible with follow through (sad truth there), so I decided to start a blog to hold myself accountable. I am on a mission to go through all my purty little Pinterest folders and start putting them into action, after which I will come share my results with y'all. Greatest thing ever? I'll tell ya why. Complete failure in the kitchen? I'll tell ya that too, and even share some pictures for a good laugh.
So, why should you care? Well, maybe you don't, but here's what you can expect to read about to help you decide. My 3,000+ pins are a combination of cooking, photography tips, kiddo fun, house decorating, home improvement, organizing etc.
I hope you'll stick around and join this fun little adventure with me, it should be fun...or at least funny. Did I mention I am a mess in the kitchen, have actually burnt boxed mac & cheese in the past, have a black thumb, and am scared of a glue gun. This should be a wild ride...
P.S. Until I become more tech saavy and can figure out how to put all those nifty little buttons in my sidebar (hmm, I wonder if they have a pin for that?) you can find my Pinterest page here. Take a look around and see what kind of adventure we're gearing up for :)
